weekend summary

good morning all --

and I say good morning, because for once, even though it's a Monday morning ... it is a good one.

so what has been going on in my life recently? Man oh man, so much to tell.
well this Wednesday I am having surgery. this damn gall bladder and its stones will be taken out. I am relieved, but worried. Anything that has to do with seeing a doctor always worries me. But I keep telling myself that after this is all done - I will feel much much better. No more pain or discomfort. I guess that we will just have to wait and see how it all works out.
having surgery means kicking butt at work. I will be quite busy today and tomorrow. I never seem to like leaving work pending. This is the perfectionist in me.
since I am having surgery, I wanted to have a good weekend before I was going out of commission. I was able to spend a realllly good weekend with my buddy Jaemy & family. It was mostly talking, bonding, laughing, eating, soccer, and I actually got to sleep. We went to eat at this place called the Old Spaghetti Factory, and let me just tell you... that was gooood stuff. I have always wanted to go there, but this is the first time I got the chance.
I did get to watch two soccer games on Sunday. The first was the LA Galaxy vs DC United. the Galaxy had their ass handed to them. Although Galaxy played ok, DC took the chances given to them and dominated. It makes me wonder what the G's are going to do for the 4th of July game against New England. If they want to get a win, they better show up to the game. The other was the Eurocup. Good game. Spain deserved the win. They have played really well throughout the tournament.
Watching those games makes me wish that I was from a country that appreciated soccer. The US still has not gotten a hang of the sport itself. Some jumped on the bandwagon when Beckham came, but the amount of fanatics are limited. It seems to me that the east coast has a bigger fan base. Whichever way, the sport itself has come a long way here in the US. I am excited to see how much more it grows. Hopefully the surgery will not hold me back from the game this Friday.
I have two other subjects that I wanted to talk about, but I feel that they do not pertain to this blog per say. So later on today... once my thoughts have been gathered I will type away.

For now - enjoy the silence.

who are you?

finally I am part of something huge - the internet. And trust me, I know huge. I have some aunts that can compete in the "huge" department. Anyhow, I am now a blogger. This is truly exciting.
I think that the best way to break the ice, or to start off any friendship is by introducing yourself. So let me tell you what I think you need to know on our first meeting.
My name is Cindy. Most call me Cin, Cindy, Cinders, or beautiful. You can call me any - I have no preferrence.
I am older then most think. I have to thank my mom for that. Our family ages pretty well.
I was born in the greatest city out there, in the greatest state. E. Los Angeles, CA. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, but I was not left hung to dry once dinner time came.
My siblings are amazing. Each with their own personality, but everyone can tell that we are related when we all get in the same room. I think we tend to be bullies. We do talk a lot of shit. With the exception of the eldest. She is there to giggle mostly. She makes me feel so damn funny sometimes. My mom is the one that held us all together. She is a strong, 4 ft 11 in, woman. I am proud of her. Overall, we all love to hang out and have a good time.
So what makes me ... me. Smiling and laughter is key in my life. Music, reading, writing, and movies help my life flow smoother. My 7th grade teacher wrote in my yearbook "To: Cindy. You are a very witty girl. I hope you stop talking so much..." I think she hit it on the mark. I talk as much as I type or text or write. My mind is on a constant over drive. Having said that, I LOVE a good conversation. About what you might ask?... anything really. As long as you have an opinion and I can sense passion or commitment, I am down to conversate. Even if I do not agree with you... I love to listen to people that have something to say. (please do not confuse this with opening your mouth just to be included. as opposed to opening your mouth because you are actually contributing to the conversation in a positive manner. There is a difference.) I always have an opinion. Never doubt this. If you stump me... I salute you. I do not care for being Ms. Popular. I am not here to have 425.3 friends and counting. I love being alone sometimes. We all need our alone time. I'm girly, but not in all of the typical ways. I am girly because I am a girl.. not because I am girly. Trust me... if you stick around... you will understand. I am very loyal to my family, friends, work, and most importantly to my heart.
I dislike arrogance and ignorance. I dislike people that open their mouths for the sake of having something to say and being part of a conversation. I agree with free speech, but not when it is going to lower everyone's IQ. I always love to say "savor silence." Enjoy it people. Silence is not always a bad thing. I dislike people that follow trends for the sake of being part of the flock. Be trendy because you like the trend... not to be included. I dislike hypocrites. I hate bobbleheads. I do not like most people for the simple reason that they swallow everything they are given and are too lazy to think outside of the box. I hate 15 year olds that are having babies for reasons like... "I'm in love" or "I don't want to be old when my child is 9 and wants to play" Give me a break.
I just realized that I can really go on and on with this. But then what would I have to say in my other posts? So for the sake of keeping anyone interested... this will be all for now.
Please come back from time to time. Just please make sure you leave the bullkaka at the door.

enjoy the silence

welcome mats are always dirty

dear kitty:: all of this time I have been searching for a place to blog away. and finally I found this through my one and only - google. I love google. I learned a game through it actually -- google labeling -- it is quite entertaining while at work. It gives me something when I need to take a step back.
Anywho, so back to what I started with. I finally found a place to blog. I will formally introduce myself in my next post. For now, I just wanted to test the waters.
Till the next - enjoy the silence.
